The Velsen Adventure Mine is not just a museum - it brings mining history to life. Machines move, echoes reverberate through corridors, evidence of decades of underground work can be felt at first hand. In a country where active mining has long since ceased, this site is one of the few places where we can really experience how our ancestors worked, cared and lived in community.

You are helping to ensure that knowledge about the hard life underground is not lost; that the steel, coal and mining heritage, which is such a strong part of Saarland's identity, continues to be told. Sponsoring & donations

We have been officially recognized as a non-profit organization by the Saarbrücken tax office since 2013. This means that donations and sponsorship contributions can be claimed for tax purposes. We will of course be happy to issue you with a corresponding donation receipt.
